You Again Movie Review

You Again: *** stars (out of 4)
Starring: Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Victor Garber, Sigourney Weaver, Odette Yustman, Kristen Chenoweth and Betty White. Directed by Andy Fickman. Approximately 112 minutes. This was playing at major theaters, but it came out last month, so it is probably only playing in one theater now. Rated PG.

When I first saw the preview for You Again, I thought it looked funny. However, after at least 20 viewings of the preview as I went to the movies over the next few months began to get to me. This was getting on my nerves. I went to see the movie, still. It was actually pretty entertaining. It's not my favourite movie of all time, but heck, I still enjoyed it. You Again tells the story of Marni (Kristen Bell), she is a public relations executive who works in New York. That's not what she was like in high school, though. She had zits, glasses and was bullied by a horrible girl named Jay-Jay (Odette Yustman) who's real name was Joanna. At least 8 years later, Marni finds out the bully is going to marry Marni's brother. Marni freaks out and tries to convince her mom (Jamie Lee Curtis) that the soon-to-be-wife of her brother is horrible. But the mom has problems of her own. It turns out that Joanna's aunt (Sigourney Weaver) is a person who wasn't very nice to Marni's mom in high school. Of course, everything goes wrong in this movie including dance lessons with a dotty dance instructor (Kristen Chenoweth), a denture wearing grandma (Betty White) and an ex-boyfriend of Joanna who is still in love with her. This movie could have gone wrong in so many different ways, but it is actually entertaining. Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, Betty White, the ex-boyfriend and the dad (Victor Garber) were funny. So, I think that this is worth seeing. Apparently, critics hate this movie such as Richard Roeper. He gave it an F in his website. I don't agree. I think that this is worth seeing, even though it's not the best film I've ever seen.
